One of the most common practices in child rearing is to focus upon behavior. No one wants little Sarah to toss Aunt Nellie's figurines about the room like a volleyball in a gymnasium! And most people would rather that John not toss his brother's toys out the window of a moving automobile. We really want our children to behave and obey the authorities in their lives, and in turn become productive citizens of our society.
